NOTE: If you can't follow these rules or meet the requirements, don't apply to be a DJ at The Void


General Rules and Guidelines for DJ's


You MUST be at least 18 years of age

You must provide all information on the application form

You MUST have a broadband or DSL connection to the  internet

All shows are to be a minimum of 2 hours

You may only use approved software to stream to our servers

Never (and we mean NEVER) say the word DOWNLOAD

You must supply all music

All music MUST be  tagged in this format - "Artist - Song Title"

All music must be able to be broadcast at lest 128kbps

Yahoo is required when passing the station between DJs and taking requests from listeners

No DJ will take or boot another DJ. However, if the station is 'auto' you may log in and DJ live

Be here on time for your regular shifts

Let someone know if you cant be here for a shift

If something comes up Instant Message DJ_Rage, DJ_MidniteRage or the DJ on the Air at the Time to pass the message.


Use respect at all times on air remember you are a reflection of the station

Please keep it family friendly till 800 pm.

You may NOT bash any other radio station, online or on-air "EVER!"

Support the station, and your fellow DJ’s. Don’t just come do your shift and disappear, you should visit regularly meet all the new members of The Void and what's stay abreast of going on.

Attendance Rules:


We hold a strict attendance policy at The Void

You are only allowed 1 no show per month, 3 strikes and your show is dropped.

A DJ must show up at least 15 minutes prior to their shows starting time, if your over 15 mins  late the existing DJ may continue on air it will be at their discretion.

If you can't do your show, you may contact other DJ's to get your time slot is appropriately covered, If no other DJ can show up, e-mail or send a Yahoo Message no later than 2 hours in advance to the CEO or GM of "The Void".

We understand that last minute emergencies happen. Please let an us know as soon as possible. These will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

We realize you may get burned out if you take on an aggressive schedule. We don't want that and encourage to plan their schedule with this in mind. We would rather you took a on a casual schedule rather than burning out and quitting altogether.

DJ's are the backbone of the station.  we do appreciate your time, commitment and adherence to the rules


Broadcasting Rules:

You should talk on your show after every 5 or 6 songs

Never announce the title of the song coming up. Only the name of the artist

You may announce the title of songs already played

A DJ must give warning of lyrics that could offend or be found offensive to some listeners. Make sure
all disclosures and warnings are played at the start of your show, and again once every hour of your air time.
Remember, young children may be listening as well. Just be respectful of all your listeners.



We are not regulated by the FCC, however:


The DMCA imposes certain requirements and rules with which persons subject to US law who are transmitting Internet Radio Programs must comply. Without limiting the applicability of all other laws, rules and contractual provisions that may govern your activities, you agree to comply with the following specific DMCA rules in connection with your Internet Radio Server, including but not limited to the following:

i. You may not include in your Internet Radio Programs specific sound recordings within one hour of a request by a listener or at a time designated by the listener.

ii. In any three-hour period, you should not intentionally program more than three songs (and not more than two songs in a row) from the same recording; you should not intentionally program more than four songs (and not more than three songs in a row) from the same recording artist or anthology/box set.

iii. You should not publish advance program guides or use other means to pre-announce when particular sound recordings will be played or the order in which they will be played.

iv. You should only include in your Internet Radio Programs sound recordings that are authorized for performance in the United States. Some songs may be written by writers who are not affiliated with ASCAP, BMI or SESAC. Generally, the liner notes of your CDs should indicate in small print whether the songwriters are affiliated with ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC.

v. Bootlegs: some songs may be written by writers who are not affiliated with ASCAP, BMI or SESAC (including, for example, many songs written by local and international songwriters for albums that are not released by a "major" label in the United States). Such songs are not covered Our Service Provider's blanket licenses, and you would need direct permission from the writers (or copyright owners) of such songs before including them in your programs. Generally, the liner notes of your CDs should indicate in small print whether the songwriters are affiliated with ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC.
